Fernando's Friend

Currently I am sitting at the Internet Cafe. I love this place. I can get online and check my facebook while I eat french fries and sip on my Caramel Machiato. I only have a few minutes so this blog will be a bit short. In about 3 minutes I will log off here at the Internet Cafe and walk across the way to Claudius for Devos. I am in the Chaplain Internship program and part of it is that I observe so many devos with my chaplain mentor. My mentor is Jenn Hale and she is the chaplain somewhere on Claudius 2. I am excited about all that the internship has in store. I know I will grow because of it this semester! :)
Now about Fernando's friend! I went to Petsmart to get a live aquatic plant for Fernando. If you don't know who Fernando is read the previous post! I was looking around Petsmart with my friend Angelica and we stumbled across some African Dwarf Frogs! They are completely aquatic frogs who get along with Bettas. BTW completely aquatic means they stay under water all the time. Then I saw the price tag, only 2.99!!! So I bought Fernando a new buddy who has yet to be named. Any suggestions? Nothing plain okay! This little gal froggy needs an equally fun name as Fernando! :) Alright that's all for now I gotta head out to these Devos.
God's grace and peace for you all!

Fish, Flowers, and Frances

So I haven't had a blog since I had a Xanga account and that was like 5 years ago. Which means I have been off the blogging scene for quite sometime. This blog is to mainly be about my life and my journey to graduation here at Oral Roberts University herein referred to as ORU. I am a transfer student here and I am a Theology major with a Missions concentration.
I live in a set of dorms called Towers. Towers is a group of four large David's Star shaped dormitory towers. At the far left and the far right are two taller towers and the inner 2 towers are roughly 1/3 to 1/2 the size of the outer towers. There are 2 guy towers and 2 girl towers, a short and tall for each group. I live in the Tower called Frances. Which happens to be the tall tower in the girls dorms. I just moved to this dorm this Spring semester. I am so blessed to have an amazing floor and an awesome room mate. My room mates name is Anna. Again she is awesome!!!
So I've atleast revealed the Frances part of the title. Wondering what fish and flowers are all about??? Today I got a fish. A betta to be exact. I had no plans of getting a fish actually I went across the street from ORU to buy scrapbook papers and other decorative items to decorate my dorm and my door with. However I saw a vase and I had a vision, a fishbowl vision. I saw the vase and thought that would make an awesome fishbowl!! I could put flowers at the top and it would look like a vase but with a fish inside! The vase only cost me 3 dollars compared to the 5 to 10 dollar plain looking round fishbowls Wally world had to offer. I procceded to find flowers in the craft section as well as smooth stones to put at the bottom of my newly discovered fishbowl. Once I had all my supplies in hand I headed the the pet department in search of my new aquatic friend. I looked school fish that glowed in the dark, goldfish, guppies, and mollies. The I found the Betta's! Looking for the most lively specimen I found a red male with a dash of purple on his back. I got all my things together checked out and took the little fellow home. On the way back home I named my new little friend Fernando the Fish! You must pronounce his name with a hispanic accent. Otherwise you lose the intended effect. Try it. Really it's fun to say. Say it out loud, "FERNANDO THE FISH!" Well it makes me smile anyway.
I will take pictures and post them here and on my facebook as soon as I get batteries for my camera. I have the most beautiful fish bowl in the history of fishbowls. For now peace be with you my friends.
